What are those specs in the third row? 8 speed non-MD was only available for the Superbe and SL road race group and those hubs had an overlocknut dimension of 126 or 130 mm iirc.

They are the OLD, how accurate the OLD data is I don't know. But it's from Sutherland's 6th Anniversary Edition if I remember correctly.

I have the suntour freehub body fitting guide somewhere as well but cannot find it at the moment. :s Will search the web see if somebody else has scanned it..

I see you have :)

I just joined the suntour group on there as well.

No problem :D

We'll probably ramble on a bit now ;)

8 speed (normal) started in 1992 iirc for road bikes
Looking in the catalogue it's 130mm for the Superbe only.

I wonder if later years (what 4yrs till the 6th Aniv Edition I think) moved to 135mm as well then or low end MTB ?

126 was not an option though.

That´s so difficult about elucidating the history of SunTour, the years after 1993. Artifacts even more sparse than from the years before when compared with Shimano´s heritage. It almost seems like exploring terra incognita or archaeology to me. :) Sometimes in the forums i frequent photos of strange "Suntour" labeled items appear. Lately a screw-on freewheel showed up with cogs labeled "PowerFlo" and a Shimano-esque lockring. Strange things must have happened when Suntour went south in 1994/95....

Just had a measure and confirmed that the one with the shorter body is a 7 speed MD and the larger body hub is a 7 speed standard, now both available for sale.

Kingofthescrathchmonkeys, Matt, has very kindly offered to take the 7 speed standard hub back, I bought it from him and he had offered a return if it wasn't the right one for me, he currently has a sale thread up for it, it is new/unused with just the light marks as shown in his photos.

Re:

Thread revival!

I've got some wheels with XC Comp hubs, the rear looks to be a standard (ie. Non-microdrive) 7-speed Suntour cassette body... Where the hell do I find a cassette for it??

The freehub in question...

Re:

I might have an 8 speed free hub and cassette. If interested, let me know and I'll locate them.
