1977. Elvis and Marc Bolan die. Sex Pistols, The Clash, Abba The Album. Saturday Night Fever, Star Wars, Atari, Apple II. And this beauty was made.

Suntour Cyclone GT rear derailleur (date code TB - Feb 1977). Arguably the best shifting and looking long cage rear mech, almost certainly the lightest (190g). This is in wonderful condition for its age, with original jockey wheels showing hardly any wear, no play in the pivots, tight spring. Just a few surface scratches, but hardly visible when on the bike. Wish I'd aged so well.

Perfect for anyone who wants to ride an elegant period bike up steep hills with period (perhaps elegant) knees... Which is what I was going to do, but then went down the more modern (90s) route.

£27.50 posted. Now SOLD. Thanks David!

Re: Suntour Cyclone GT Rear Mech 1977

lovely bit of kit these, the later MKII was even lighter at a ridiculous 175g or so for the GT..the short cage was about 165g, bettered only by around half a dozen uber expensive modern RD's but not anywhere as lovely.
I'm almost talking myself into buying this..lol :D but I already have a golden arrow long cage that is bang tidy..aaaagh..supposed to be shedding shiny things not getting more..lol
