Sunn Obsys, replaceable steerer tube?

Hi folks,

I know this is borderline '97/'98, so I'm asking on both sections. Does anyone know if the steerer tubes are replaceable? I am led to believe they are pressed in, and with a lip on the bottom.

If so, where can I get hold of one?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Hi Mike,

what's your intention - original steerer tube to short ?

Normally these steerer tubes are pressed in - some times ago a friend of mine changed a steerer tube from a RS Mag 21 from a 1 1/8" to a 1" by pushing out the original steerer and pressed a 1" steerer tube, purchased from ebay, in.

There`s a guy in a German bike related forum, who offers this service too, for various forks and makes.

I would assume that the Obsys could be treated the same way.

I think it is too short. From my calculations, I need about 185mm. Well, don't we all!
