Sun tour VX rear derailleur

Has anybody used a 28 tooth rear freewheel with a sun tour VX derailleur? The max apparently is 26.

I use a 28 with an AX.

Yes, it's been done. Depending on the version you have, and what chain rings you're using, the chain may sag on the small-small combo if you have the short or medium cage version (Vx or Vx-S/T). The long cage Vx-GT will handle pretty much anything.

Used to use a sun tour VX-GT long cage rear Mech on a 14-34 rear & 68T front chainring when I was attending college back in the early 80’s never had any issues although I wasn’t running any inner ring at the time......

Used this ring on this set up & did a 10 on it this had 68x12-17 set up.
