Hi All,

After two aborted project (at this time) for sad reasons these last months, a 97'cracked head tube Manitou FS and a 96' AMP B4 with a stucked BB, I've find a better karma with a cool early Intense Uzzi SL, cheap and locally...

I've had a Uzzi SL in 98' and keep this bike for many years and I think is the bike I've had the most adventures and miles with. Also as an old DH rider I always be in love with Intense frames and always liked the idea of an early Intense rebuild so the fun can begin.
Frame is now stripped and ready for some clean and polish...

As I've already asked for in this thread https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/early-intense-cycles-serial-number-help-please.447559/ I'm not sure of the year of this frame. Look like a 96' even if the serial number doesn't match (SN# : M12887) as 97' frames already had disc brakes mounts, so I go with a 96/97' parts build. If someone can help me about the year, it would be cool... ;)

More to come... ;)

Looks like a great project 😊 love the 100% polished frame and original Intense logos. Some fluro yellow Racelines would fit this I reckon 👍

Thanks for your reply beepbeep !! After seeing some of your posts I believe I know that you're an Intense lover (correct me if i'm wrong) this frame is also a nice time capsule for me... . I'm really happy to keep the OG decals as they're really clean appart some little scratches.
About the build, for sure Race Lines would be nice but I had two options in my mind as I had already sourced some clean m950 V-Brakes and Rock Shox Disc (for the front) so the fork and his brakes mount was the judge... ;)

I would have expected a 98 to have a disk mount, would it be possible that your swingarm is not original?

Disc mount appeared on SL frames in 97'. Also my frame have a different bolt type on the chainstay pivot (2 bolts v/s 1 on later frames) so I think mine is a 96' but without certainties.

Some small news... Re-build has begun slowly after a slight clean and polish... Excuse me for the disorder in my (small) play room but I need to manage between bike building and modelling... 🤣

Waiting for the fork but at this time Thanks to @Krsnadread for the RF Turbine crankset and m950 brake-set and @Keppel for the NOS DX pedals !!

All the best,

Hi Dan,

They had not real changes prior 2000 who's the year with new rocker and extra gusset but yours look like later than mine. Serial number said 99' after As you said it have disc tabs but also anodised rocker (98' and after if I'm not wrong) and also a different chainstay pivot axle.

What are you planning with your build ? Polish or painted finish ?

Regards,
Fred
