Sugino granny

Was wondering what does CSS-III HDC and CSS-II on Sugino granny stand for ? Aparently I should turn the ring correctly according to chain type (according to arrows)? I usualy have Shimano HG-40 chain.
Just a shortcut to discussion would be fine.

I think it is MicroDrive (Suntour and probably Sugino* at the time) and CompactDrive (Shimano) BCD positions.




*since they made crank for Suntour.
