Wanted STX-RC/XT or similar 8s freehub rear wheel late 90s if possible

Hi,

I'm looking to rebuild my late 90s GT Tequesta and my original rear wheel is long gone. I really want to keep it period-built, so am looking for a similar-aged replacement to the original STX-RC hub/Mavic rim setup. Seen a few for sale on the forums, but was too slow to pick them up.

Really hope someone can help. I missed out on a set on eBay this morning both front and rear, and was proper gutted, even though I was just after the rest as I've got the original GT/Mavic combo that it came with when I bought it in 1999.

Anyone know if it's easy enough to convert to an 8 speed? I've not messed with wheels much if I'm honest, past basic maintenance that is.
