Well chaps, picked it up today and it's defo an Ascent EX. Full LX group set and in cracking condition. Has the original saddle and even that's in perfect nick! Few small scratches here and there but considering it's 18 years old it's a belter. The paint has not even worn off the rim surface! Thought for a horrible moment that the seat post was stuck but after a rugged yank it was free. 
Had a quick run on it and it rides really well, a lot like an early '90's Marin actually. Problem is I don't know what to do with it now as I'm supposed to be thinning my collection not adding to it. One of my Clockwork frames has been casting admiring glances at all the kit (even seat post fits the Clockwork) but it'd seem a shame to break the DB up. Confused now but I guess the answer will come to me. :roll:
I'll give it a clean up this week and post it up in members bikes.

Well my Clockwork has got it's way and pinched the wheels and groupset. Was an impulse buy this and I don't really have a use for the frame, forks, stem, etc so I've listed them in the for sale thread. Not looking to make a fast buck so feel free to make an offer if the asking price is too much.
