stupid brake question

Got a set of xt brakes but the rear is incredibly sharp, a gentle touch can lock the rear wheel.

Ive tried 2 sets of different pads but the same. And i dont think it is an adjustment issue but will have a fiddle.

Thinking of maming some of the holes in the rotor bigger....

Or a dab if oil on the pads?

Fixed that for you.

On a more serious note, are the pads sintered? swap to resin for possibly less bite/more modulation?

Had a play with lever reach adjustment knob, which was wound out too far and jammed, unjammed with pliers. Wound in a couple of turns and much better now.
