Although you have more bikes than I ever had Brian, your pick the bike closest to the door is not complicated by numbers of gears a bike has. All have between 1 and 3 and most conform to pretty much the same look. Your system won't work if you have as much variation in style, function and technology as the rest of us to choose from ;-)

Well sometimes I used to venture a bit further in...

a bike with a derailleur and front and rear suspension



But realising I was not yet old and frail enough for such luxuries I actually sold it.

Currently out making sure the tea and cake is still up to standard. Promising start, as the pot of tea comes with a top up of hot water and they still do the black pudding and onion marmalade toastie.
