Must say I'm quite curious of these frames:

Has anyone on here ridden one or got one? I'm used to riding bikes from the late 80s / early 90s.

There is a huge thread on singletrack - but mostly folks comparing the ride to a full suss (means nothing to me). What are they like compared to a rigid retrobike?

I'm worried they'll be sloooow...and even heavier. But potentially very comfortable and lots of fun.

(Mods - sorry if this should be in the 98 section but I wanted a comparison to pre 98 bikes in terms of ride characteristics. Please feel free to move if needed)

FYI, i have removed the original link in the OP post as for some reason it went via some ads etc.

like the look of those bikes though :)

Re:

Yeah strange - I noticed on my phone it was dodgy but worked fine on my tablet. Maybe some issue with the responsive design.

I think they look mighty cool.

Anyone here ridden one?

That's pretty neat. My problem with fatbikes (at least here in the States) is the bizarre amnesia that has accompanied their rise to popularity. To me, the intent is much the same as the 80's era of MTBs-exploring areas where bikes are not typically being ridden. In the 80's it was about going where road bikes could not. Now it's about going where bikes designed for trail centers cannot! Ironic.

I'm old.

I have fond memories of the early Geoff Apps & Highpaths, these really do tick those boxes, loving the simplicity.
