I removed the old stickers from my road frame using the hot hair dryer trick. However quite a bit of the glue remains that will not budge. It just sort of slimes back and forth. Does anyone know of a lethal substance that will rid me of this gunge?

Lighter Fuel? I use it for all sorts of sticky removals.

Another vote for wd40, one of the gentler methods.

Used both WD40 and lighter fuel. Both work well, but lighter fuel doesn’t leave any residue.

Another option is paraffin, if you have any. Also useful for cleaning motorcycle chains!

Petrol works well .... just don't smoke while you're doing it
