Stepped cable ferrules for rear gear cables.

Hi,
I have a sort of brazed on blob with a hole in it on a couple of my road frames and need a ferrule that is stepped to allow it to fit. The hole is 3.5mm internal diameter.
I had one, but used it on my Merckx. I need another for my Dyna Tech.
Does anyone know if they have a proper name and where they are available from?

Lovely, thanks for that. I'll try them and hopfully they will be okay with Gear cable.

Stepped Ferrule. A bit of a Ronseal name that. Un-usual for cycling things, expected them to be called a Mafac ferrule or Cambio Braggilia or something daft!

I had exactly this problem a few weeks back. I tried all manner of online variants, none fitted. Eventually the owner of my local bike shop had a friend make one on his lathe, which fit nicely.

I don't think the stepped brake ferrules do a very good job and leave the cable quite sloppy. I have some stepped gear cable ferrules. I can't check right now but I think they are for the 5mm outer gear cable and step down to 3.7mm. They are for the Campagnolo divers helmet style of braze on cable guide. I'll post a pic tonight.

That's exactly what I need! The divers helmet is a goid description of the braze on. It is the same on my Dyna Tech as on my Merckx Corsa Extra so guessing Campagnolo pattern.

I think it was Campag who called it the 'divers helmet'
