Stem - with 1" steerer and 3.18 bar... does it exist?

I have a set of "03 Bomber forks with a 1" steerer and Im trying to find a stem that will fit a standard bar with a 4 bolt bar clamp, this is proving pretty hard considering I have specific length and rise I am after too. (100 long 10º rise and in polished aluminium to boot!)

Am I asking the impossible, when trying to find a stem with 3.18 bar clamp instead (still with the 1" steerer etc..)? :?

I am trying to refrain from using shims to make a more taught front end.

Any suggestions??

Draw plans, go to a machine shop and have a one-off stem built.
Methinks that will be the easiest way.

Modern 1.125" stem with a shim on the steerer? I bought a quill adapter a while back that came with suitable split alloy shims. You must be able to buy them separately.

I dont get why a shim will make it less 'taught' :?

are we talking a quill stem or a-head? quill type do exist although rare and typically boring painted steel. cant help with the other type though.

keep searching or you may find a bike at a boot sale for example to rob one off.

They do exist, seen them on recent department store BSOs, wouldn't trust them riding off a kerb. Buy a 1-1/8" stem and shim it on to your 1" steerer.

Ive spent sooo much time looking for the right size stem in the right colour, right length and rise...... Im thinking bugger it ill go with a modern 1 1/8 stem with a shim, much more choice then!! Thanks!
