Stem raisers - Who knows what ?.

Re:

I've been using one on my Cannondale bad boy for the last two thousand miles or so of commuting and done the sustrans coast to coast.
No problems and comfort is massively improved.

I didn't think it was dangerous or anything. Wouldnt have got through safety testing otherwise, and they've been out long enough for such to get reported and there arent any beyond obvious not correctly torquing them.
It was weight really with the quill Supratada suggests, ive had and used before but remembered them weighing a great deal and the whole point is to fit carbon forks, for their weight saving properties, then to stick in the weighs like solid tungsten quill system I thought too great, kind of one step forward, two back and a simple narrowing tube would be considerably lighter.

I expect there will be lighter quill types, just looking for info on the over type.

I'd skip the stem raisers, and just go with a set of higher rise bmx style bars. Safer & look a lot better imho.
