Wanted Steel track frameset/complete

Dirt Disciple
Hello, I am looking for a nice lightweight steel bike for the track (training and occasional races and fixed crits when the season is on) and the streets in-between velodrome and home. Ideally not with super esoteric standards (BSA bb and standard track spacing preferred), and important it is drilled for front brake. Budget really up to about £400 but anything considered. Thanks!

Hi. What size and era are you after? I have a 1977 Carlton Track Professional frame and forks. It’s chrome with red lining, made from 531. It’s got some surface corrosion in places but is otherwise in good condition. From memory, it’s around a 22”. It takes a 1” headset, forks are drilled, frame isn’t, 120 rear ends, 700c wheels.

Ooft, forgot to include size! I ride a 55/56 road/track-for-the-street bike usually, so something in that region. Would love to see some pics of the Carlton please, if that’s easy for you to do. Thanks.

It’s around that size. I’ll get some photos and measurements for you at the weekend.

I’ve had a hectic week with a poorly cat.
If you’re still interested, the frame has a 110mm headtube, 540 c to c top tube and 530 c to t seat tube.
I’ve not tried very hard but the drive side bb cup is pretty well in. The non drive side comes out fine to service the bearings, and if needed, I have some Campag pista cranks to fit.

Hello, thank you for the reply and photos. Lovely frameset. I'm afraid in the between time I went for an Atom track bike I found on LFGSS. Thanks again.
