Steady peaks ride sunday 28th July #aftermath from pg5

Am I somehow the first one here? In the ladybower inn car park.

Today we learned that
Looks like it was a stunning day for a ride / take your bike for a walk. 🙂

You gotta respect the men that turned up on them though as some sections are challenging on an old bike to climb.

@iveto1983 crazily rode to the spot and back home - think he was at 55miles when he left us with maybe another 25-30 home - on a WTB phoenix

@longun picked a very unsuitable 88 Trekker which did amazingly well

@Markybeau had the narrowest bars known to man combined with a slightly compressed twitchy fork

And @Corduroyboy we agreed likely had the best suited bike to the job with a F8 RC200. However he then proved they crash spectacularly too.

Wasn’t intended as criticism, more jealousy. Previously done the ride (clockwise and anticlockwise). Even when I had some fitness, I was walking more than most others. Yesterday I was pleased I managed a 9k bimble with a heady 24m of climbing.

Don’t worry mate wasn’t taken as criticism at all.

(I can’t say much as I was on modern filth )
