Stay or sell...?

It seems crazy that I have 3 nice bikes in the loft gathering dust. I need to offload 1 or 2 of them to get some cash together for the summer hols. The bikes in question are a Pace (red anno); A Bonty Race Light and a DB AXIS TT. All are in great condition and fully working and in most cases pretty period correct, so not really projects.

I would love to keep them all, but I fear the Wife will murder me otherwise.

I know it's difficult to help me decide sans piccies, but i'll try and dig some out later (I'm at work).

I also have a stack of stuff that might make the £800 figure I'm aiming for, but it's easier to make that figure in a couple of sales rather than 20-30+ with stems, forks, bars, clothes etc.

Sell em. If you're not gonna ride them its pointless keeping them.

I agree with this, after some deep soul searching i have decided i dont need 6 bikes

Keeping 2 , one road and one off-road.

Yeah, I know what I should do. They occasionally get ridden, but now I'm in the Lakes, the terrain is too harsh for them and much prefer to finish a ride with me and the bike in one piece...I don't have any real sentimental attachment to them; I just like having nice toys.

The other thing to remember is that times are tough

If you look at the members sale section a few bontys have had to be broken or not sold because they were higher priced bikes. With tough times the hobby we have..and it is a hobby for most..the cash for the big hitters isn't around as it used to be.

If you genuinely aren't feeling the love......then sell them but be realistic on pricing and sell away

I know what you mean about toys..I have some stuff that at the time there was nothing else I wanted more and it's rather comforting to know they are there and of a quality I always expect so they will be some of the last things I ever sell

The PACE might do the 800 quid target in one go if you split it, the frame bringing in most the money if people/ebay happen to be wanting.

Spend a good time checking old auctions or on here to get a feel for prices.

Try selling the spare bits and pieces first. You'd be surprised how much that can raise, and £20 for a stem that finishes a project is far more affordable than £200 for a frame that starts one...
What size is the Bonty? ;)

Such a good bit of advice.

Yeah, I know what I should do.
