Was Frog brought up yet, posting a loss also.

(and is championed as a Brexit success iirc from something I read).
Impression I got was that the government was touting it as Brexit success, but the company had a quite different view with it costing them multiple £100k in costs/lost business.

True, but as a global business, they will have the ability to ensure profits are declared in the most financially beneficial locations. This is not a comment on Specialized, any global business can (and frankly should) be doing this within the scope of the financial rules of the countries they operate in. Whether those rules are “fair” is a whole seperate thread.
Indeed but even as a global business, perhaps even more so, less than 20% GP is shaky.

Would these figures not be manipulated by costs/investment so more of the profit appears on the other side of the Atlantic? Not sure how the UK profit stacks up against the worldwide figure as a whole.

The UK companies are really just distributors not manufacturers. Spesh/Trek etc will also be making money on the US side selling to the UK. With the pound in the toilet against the dollar, this is probably where most money is made.

Do they do much manufacturing in the US anymore? I would be interested to know. Design, yes, but I thought the manufacturing was mainly done in the far east. After all, aside from owning a large chunk of Specialized, Merida manufacture for Specialized too. (I'm not sure what proportion of Spesh's products are made by Merida though.)
