I've tracked down a replacement lhs Exage shifter for my Trek, but it's missing the shifter pod. No problem, I've got spares, STX-RC and a slightly more basic set. However it seems Shimano have changed the mount slightly and the newer pods don't fit. Anyone else run into this?
hi,
I have no experience with Exage Brifters, but I'm using STX mounts as perches quite often, also with older shifters from older STI brifters.
E.g.
Also those doesn't fit always, but it's mostly only an not exactly fitting grid of holes in the perches, or a not optimal angle of the grid.
You just have to drill a few additional ones.
You may found here in the forum or somewhere else a better description, if I'm not mistaken even some kind of exact plan.
I'm personally doing this just by eye only (as you can see in the pic below, but it does the job).
Sold Perches from Magura, Shogun or Moonhead had a more flexible grid of holes by default.
