Sram 9.0Sl rebuild.
Not sure if this would be of any help/interest to anyone here
Personally I'm finding the restoring part of the hobby for me is the most rewarding,..being able to take something that most people would throw in the bin and make it look nice again is most satisfying
So I rebuilt this derailleur a while ago , but never got around to posting any proper pics
Although I will say now,
I apologize for the quality of the pictures, at times somewhat blurry..
.. but given it was really tricky holding the part, either open or in a position a picture could be taken , whilst also holding onto my best m8 'JD' in a glass and the camera all at once ..
Anyway
So..
It was in poor shape and not really in the cosmetic condition I was wanting, so I started by removing all the basic screws and bolts, and worn jockey wheels , etc.
Then onto removing all the retaining pins and tiny cir clips on the 'knuckle' part.
This then enabled for me to get at the internals, also allowing me to removing the return spring from the retainer stop . .
It was not the best state internally
Then onto removing the retaining pin for the main body spring return mechanism, not sure of technical terminology but hopefully the pictures explain what I'm doing.
That then enabled the separation of the main body from the derailleur plate.
So now I've got a bunch of parts ..
All the individual parts were then cleaned and degreased then made ready for the SFX Booth
Ovens are for cooking ? right
Time for a break Part 2 up soon..
