Never heard of it until today - a trip to the - youknowwhereI'vementionedsomanytimesitdoesntneedtobesaidanymorebutforthosewhodontknoworwhocanguessbymybanner - local tip provided a daft looking Schwinn Sierra GSX with this gear system.

Standard 8spd cassette with a 3 spd internal geared hub and a specific shifter, however, two standard thumbies would also take care of the shifting.

Piss easy to remove and in practice actually very smooth shifting - not in any way like a Sturmey Archer.

Anyway - I think I mught put this on a better frame or sell it to the folding crowd as it appears to be worth more than the (completely daft) bike as a whole...

now where did I put that Moulton...?

great bit of kit the dual drive. offers massive gear range and are very reliable.

great for foldingbikes as you don't end up with the problems of massive ring shifting with a front mec.

surprised SRAM haven't made a lighter and super sealed version specifically for MTB.

Got one of em on my recumbent Logo trike combined with a triple for 81 gears!! (thinking of putting a MTN drive on the front as well to make it 162 :) )

Works well, is a godsend for smaller wheeled bikes (rear wheel on Logo is a 20")

What about a nice Raleigh twenty hotrod project? :)
