Sram 900 Boost hubs thru axle to quick release. Possible?

Hi everyone,

Probably a bit of a daft question here but I'm very new to all the new MTB 'standards'.

I have done some research but could not find a definite answer and I am going round in circles so I was wondering if anyone can help.

Found a set of 27.5+ wheels that comes with Sram 900 Boost hubs (110 front/148 rear).

Is it possible at all to convert these hubs into quick release 110/135mm spacing? I also understand that Boost hubs have the flanges distance increased, so you need a specific chainset that sits 3mm out for a better chainline. Would this conversion affect chainline on a 135mm spaced frame?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hmmmmm not come across those but i think youll be disappointed. Here is my reasoning. The point of boost hubs is to make the hub wider so the flanges are further apart resulting in more dishing of the spokes. More dishing makes stronger wheel and some is lost by goung to larger diametef, 27.5 and 29. So it is unlikely there is a shorter spacer than already fitted for narrower spacing, if there is, then it defeats the whole point of boost.

I could be wrong ofcourse but if a supposedly wider than normal hub can fit in narrower gap then it defeats the purpose as it isnt any wider. <--- hope that makes sense.

Yes, it makes sense. I know some 142mm hubs can be reduce to 135mm, 148mm to 135 would only be another 3mm each side but it does not look promising on these specific hubs.
