Where do you recommend for spokes? Anyone more accomodating than anyone else?

The only problem with CRC is they sell them in sets of 36.

No problem for a 32H front, but when you need 16 of two different lengths for the back; that's a lot of spares!

I often use Rose Versand:

The prices aren't quite as keen as they once were, especially if you're paying in sterling, but they have good prices on a lot of gear (especially things like Magura spares, and dynohubs for your commuter) and even with the fairly high flat rate shipping you can see some good savings. Probably not a bargain for just one or two wheels worth of spokes though. Another thing that makes them attractive is that they stock Revolution and Alpine3 spokes as well as the more common Champions and Competitions.

If you buy spokes, note that nipples aren't included - you need to order them separately.

I get mine from STW , 40p a spoke . Cant remember the exact model but they are DT swiss .

I've got 64 DT Swiss with silver nipples sitting in the garage from an ebay seller who chucked them in with a pair of Mavic 717 rims I bought.

Tenner & free postage to anyone on the forum. Drop me a line if you need me to measure them.

CRC do the extra long nipples as standard so unless the ofset on your back wheel is crazy just get a full set of the longer lengths. this worked fine when I built up an M737 XT rear hub. All the spokes were well screwed in with no shap bits sticking through the rim! ;)
