I need to replace some broken spokes and to get some as spares.

So I need to know how to measure the spoke length.

I've got a tape measure and removed a spoke what next :?

measure from the inside of the elbow to the end of the threads.

To clarify that, do you mean A or B in the enclosed picture?

that will be a A there bob

if you've broken a fair few say 7/8 all within a short time of each other its time to re-lace them. Im offering a discount on my professional wheel building services to retrobikers ;)

Cool, thanks for the clarification.

:touch wood: I've not had to replace a spoke yet, but it's good to know these things for when the time comes.
