i have just brought a second set of spin wheels. I am waiting for them to arrive and also waiting for answer from seller as he is away till Tues. The thing is on my set they have a cone shim (not sure what else to call them)where the skewers go through to attach the wheels but on this set they are missing!!!!have been informed that the 1st gen spins never had them unlike the 2nd gen.could anyone confirm this please. Have inc photos.3rd and 4th are my original set with coneshimmy things lol thanks

If you search on here there are a few decent threads about different Spin wheels and how to service them etc.
Showing the variants there are

My understanding is that the earlier hubs had pin spanner dust covers, whereas the later ones didn’t and on the the axles/bearing pre load was set with with a 5mm hex and a cone spanner (at least that’s what mine do I think they’re the later ones). B15AEDB5-8DA8-4B35-AF63-DF74A264ED71.jpeg

I can assure you there's no way any of the Spin wheels when new were shipped without axle ends with the skewers intended to bear the brunt of the wheel/bike. If they're missing the rotted out because of an unlike metal skewer, were filed off, or sheared off.
