Retro Newbie
I've got a new to me 1987 Stumpy, and have been reading that some of the original Stumpy frames were more or less Ritchey B frames that Specialized sold. I was wondering if there was more info on who made the 1987 Stumpy's and if they had any relationship with Ritchey at that point, or if they'd moved on. My 1987 was a TIG'd regular Stumpy, not a lugged Sport or Pro.
I was actually originally looking at a Ritchey Ascent prior to the Stumpy, but same year, and had a little sentimental attachment to the idea of getting an Ascent, as I've got a modern Ascent so I'd have both the original and the newest model.
In any event, if there's any websites or groups that might have more Stumpy history, I'd love to learn more! I've been to Sheldon's site and perused the catalogs, but am also interested in who made the frames and the history of them.
