Specialized Stumpjumper 1999 FSR XC chainstay

After 12 years of daily duty my Specialized Stumpjumper 1999 FSR XC chainstay has finally cracked...

I am interested to hear from anyone selling one, or if anyone has come across a place where new ones (I have heard mention that a redesigned replacement was made?) might be available.

Any luck with this? I have the same issue with my 99. Found a chainstay for a 96-98 fsr on ebay (see pic) but i dont think it will fit. And its in australia.

correct -that's a different one. might fit but looks quite different.
I was lucky to be able to order a brand new one (new and improved design from the '00 model I believe?) from my local bike shop/Specialized dealer. They were sceptical at first but it arrived from the Australian Specialized distributor a few days later. Cost me the best part of $400 but???
And I had to install it...
And it is a fraction of a mm narrower at the main bearing and I had to find a washer to fit...
But it works perfectly now and has taken some serious riding over the last 6 months. I was very glad not to have to retire the bike.
So, ask your local Specialized dealer to order one - they do exist!
