Specialized S-works M2 1997

The "S" in the serial number is not unique to S-Works frames. My own '95 Stumpy M2 has a serial that begins with 95S16.... Definately not an S-works - I've owned it since new. It was purchased "frame only".

Hi there, welcome to the forum ;)
That is such a cool bike you've built up there , although I do wonder if the chain is a bit short.

Thank you all for your smart comments. :)

I had lots of pleasure while searching all the parts (i started buying the frame).
The same feeling during the assembly day.
And i still have pleasure riding it!
A great bike!
I've changed Rithey headset for a Chris King one last week. It fits better.

About the chain length, thank you for your advice and i should agree it's a bit short. But i like it like that and i'm very carefull with my transmission usually, so i hope it won't hurt. I use to fix chains that way and i never had any problems about it on all the bike i owned.

Re:

Fair enough mate, I know this as I have a bike with a similarly short chain that I've been meaning to change for ages!
Enjoy riding that lovely bike. One of the nicest Specialized alloy hardtails I've seen here

 Thanks

I'm thinking about Spinergy on it...

Now you go and spoil it , with a statement like that!

That's why i only think about it! ;)
But, yes, spinergy were a dream when i was teen. Maybe it's a bad idea, but i like those wheels. As i've found some at a nice price, i wonder.
And i'll still have the spoked wheels.

Put them on something carbon maybe.

You don't have one? Perfect excuse for another bike I think
