i think the geometry is slightly different, i remember getting one cheap from a bike shop in bristol because they couldn't sell them put some flat bars and levers on it and it was great, a bit twitchy at the front but you got used to it
Limited run of 500/600 because Specialized realised very quickly that it handled like a dog off road, and wasn't much better on the road either so they binned it off.
