ive never used spd's befour and have been thinking of trying it out. can anyone covince me that spd are better or should i stick to toeclips?

Get a pair of spuds; try them.........be patient (give them a fair chance) and you'll be kicking yourself for not trying it years ago.

Trust me. ;)

spud spud sud spud spud and spam or you can have spud spud spud spud spud spud eggs and spam (spd all the way its better to burn than fade away)

ahhhh.....the pre-spd nerves

we've all been there, give 'em a go fella, you won't look back.

Spd's are well worth trying, as everyone has said, give them a good trial to get used to them- suck em and see ;)

mmm i had a feeling this would be the case, basicly i never got to try them as i moved to brazil at the end of the 90's and befour that most of my riding was commuting between work, friends and pubs. (student life  ) so haveing another pair of shoes was a pain.
now im more setelled down i can give them a go. but what shoes do you recomend? keeping in mind i normaly ride in an old pair of converse ;) keeping it retro! some of them shoes look so uncomfortable

Specialized BG shoes are really comfy, well for my feet...

Best bet is to try some for size.

Try the egg beater range of pedals too, excellent mud capabilities, and easier to get in and out of compared to shimano, although they do not have the so positive 'click in' that shimano do .. as for shoes , cant recommend shimano shoes/boots highly enough.. last forever , good fit and feel, and well priced...

;) :)

What kind of riding to you do? I use toe clips on my commuters--that way you're not confined to the type of shoe you wear. If you buy spd's think about how big your feet are. Some pedals are so small that you can develop hot spots on your feet. Good luck!
