Absolutely. The ridges need to pass between the balls when you put the axle into the hub. There's only room for one ball between each pair of ridges, so while you might cram eleven balls into the hub, it would be impossible to install the cone.cjn1014":sge550pt said:had the same "ten per side" issue with a hb-m750 front hub i recently came across. do you think the flutes on the cone dictate number of ball bearings?
