South West Retro Ride - Sunday 12th Feb '12 - Haldon Forest!

So it's back to Haldon Forest, near Exeter, for a SW Retro Ride on Sunday 12th February. As Ajantom did such a good job on leading the last two rides we'll be following him again! There's only one carpark for those who got lost on the last ride!!!

Does anyone want to squeeze in a Dartmoor ride a couple of weeks later on Sunday 26th? I was thinking either Hameldown from Hound Tor or something towards Lustleigh from Haytor.

Might be up for Haldon this time Managed to sprain my ankle in the USA, so will see how that holds up first.

I should be okay for that date. Tell me what is the course like up there. I used to ride on the other side by the obelisk years back, and have not been on the ready made trails since they were built.

Well, as last time it will be a mixture of way-marked and off-piste trails. The official stuff is pretty good, fast rolling and good fun......and all the other stuff is pretty good too

Dry as a bone up there today lovely fast conditions.

Did 16.7 miles starting down at the Ley Arms in Kenn, so got to finish the ride with the South West's best piece of singletrack - St Andrew's Lane

I got a GPS from my sister for Xmas and used it for the first time today - 2300 ft/700 meters of climbing - no wonder I was knackered!

Hi guys just joined going to try and make the 12th Feb Haldon ride - how retro do i have to be? will i get frowns if i turn up with front suspension LOL - riding either rigid 95 kona kilauea (if i can fix it) or my 98 hei hei which is getting less retro by the second......
