Thanks @captainsully, I finish at 11:30 this coming Friday for a weeks annual leave, Im determined to have this out on the tar around bowling harbour by the Sunday for a shakedown ride.
I want to feel like a young man again!

Apologies folks I never updated this thread, winter, Christmas and health got in the way.
Eventually I finished replacing the all the cables, brakes (v-brake upgrade), tyres and finally the chain.
So over the last few months it went from this:
To me buying a much more convenient stand and fitting cables and tyres:
Then fitting the brakes, mudguard and rear carrier:
And we are up to date, on Tuesday while I was still off work I put the new chain on the Kona and with a cursory glance it "looked" the same length as the old one....... yeah,, total rookie mistake as I never laid them side by side first and below was the result.
So out with the cheapo chain breaker 6 links removed and fixed.
For your amusement and or pisstake. (feel free)
