I was leafing through an old MBUK from 1990 this afternoon and saw a review for a e-stay bike by a company called Sonic.

Anybody know anything about them or have any other I go on them?

Google: Helmut Burns.

Seriously.
Why?

Cos that's who built them.

I have that mag and review too, seen a couple of road bikes for sale over the years, no MTBs though, I do however have an unused panto-graphed seat stay cap from his old workshop - so nearly a whole frame. Ok, a fair way off.

From that thread if people don't want to clieck through:

Yup, build by Helmut Burns at Bikefix, Lamb's Counduit Street, London if it's 90s.
Have you got any pics?

Lovely bloke, very helpful, imported lots of unusual German bits.

Nicely built lugged and lugless steel. Built wheels too...Rodel wavy spokes and such

I don't think he builds frames any more, but still trading:

Had the chance to ride a SONIC Mtb back in the day....
Super short chainstays and raised too.
Shame it got nicked whilst I was in a London Hospital getting some stiches after a bit of a 'moment' at the Monday evening races at the Eastway circuit.....
