Some advice please

Re:

Mongoose were knocking out some decent bikes around 2007 (Teocali or sumfink?) so this 'might' not be as bad as is being sugested.??

$400 - about £250 then - seems about right, and altogether contained about £50 worth of components once it had left the store.

Your friend would have had to buy about FOUR of them for that price and then hope his car didn't bottom out on any speed bumps on the way home!

There's a Mongoose Pro chained up on some railings outside my local post office, been there for about 2 years, nothing's been nicked off it though!

These may not be a good buy, but you don't have to give up on the idea altogether. As I said before, the first thing is to think about where you will be riding, and what type of bicycle is best suited to that: http://www.ebicycles.com/article/what-t ... i-buy.html

Do you know anyone, a friend or relative, that is a keen cyclist? Someone that can go with you if you go to look at a bike you pick out and make sure you don't buy a lemon. Preferably someone without a vested interest like the guy at work. :D

yep i concur the max retail of those bikes new would have been around 250

u probably get 60 quid for em on a good day 2nd hand
