Old School Grand Master
To ease the pain of selling my Team ST, I bought this Dekerf Solitairefrom Gearless in Seattle. I wasn't too sure about the paint colour at first, but now I love it.
Similarly, initial handling comparisons with my '94 Dekerf were less than favourable. Replacing the fat 2.3 Speed KIngs with 1.8" Specializeds, and removing two links to shorten the chainstay length to 16.5" worked wonders. There's a bit more fettling needed , but it's getting there!
It's a bit of a mixture of oldish and new, but it's for riding, in the deep dark forest. I doubt it'll ever see a road for more than a hundred yards.
Thanks, Lawrence!

Thanks Chaps!
I've now got it dialled in perfectly; drpped the stem an inch, and solved the seat post slippage.
Sods Law, though, rears it's ugly head. My angina has returned, so I'll be having a spot of light heart surgery in a couple of weeks. Cycling will be off the agenda for a while after, and when I do get on board again, it probably won't be SS for a time
I'm on Beta blockers now, and it's kinda hard to ride SS when your heart won't rev past 90...

I've finally tracked down some nice rigid forks, courtesy of Clunker.
Some quick pics - first ride tomorrow...
