solid pace forks

i have some pace rc36 forks on my kona lava dome, didnt get used over the winter, then after a ride out the other day the forks have gone solid after being left overnight, why is this? im not sure how to get the lower carbon legs off without breaking them, im a dab hand at stripping and building motorbikes but dont want to break my pace forks so thought id ask here first

Try the before 1998 section if you get no replys. I know they were made after this time but the people who have them seem to put them in earlier bikes.

If it's the same rod I broke, pace made a batch of them about 18 months ago.......
