WHEELS NOW SOLD!

Here we have my spare / 2nd set of cult & retro Spinergy Rev-X wheels. Very rare and sought after now-days. Standard Shimano 8/9/10-speed freewheel.

The stickers have been removed for stealth look, but reproduction sticker sets are available online or I can supply you with a vector file for later ("fatter") style stickers.

The wheels have been on my spare bike until recently, while the damage (I'm guessing due to the dropped chain and no installed protective disc) has already been there when I got them and hasn't deteriorated since. However, I wouldn't recommend using them if you're a very heavy person (no pun intended, just a safety precaution). I am extremely pedantic, so you will get a very detailed review below.

The front wheel:

It has a little bit of lateral play, perhaps you could say it is true within tolerance. Braking rim shows signs of use but has loads of life left in it. There's a small portion of the rim where a filler between the rim and carbon fairing has dried a bit but carbon fibre is still firmly stuck to the ream. The hub appears to be missing one "hat" spacer on the axle end but it doesn't seem to affect the way the wheel fits into the fork. Bearings need replacing but they are standard size industrial bearings and very cheap, like few Pounds each (http://photos.cybernck.com/mcmoho/mcmoho_040)

Here's a clumsy video of the front wheel in action:

The rear wheel:

The wheel as whole runs true-ish (slightly less so than the front) but there's a small portion of the braking rim that goes slightly out of true (widens, so to speak) on one side - easy to spot in the video. The braking rim itself has got a little bit more wear than the front (as usual) but it still has life left in it. Unfortunately, the wheel has been used without a spoke protector plastic disc, so there's damage on three of the spokes on the drive-side due to a chain that had gone off. The structure of the spokes doesn't seem to be impaired. Still, it would be a good idea to seal them with epoxy. Industrial bearing on non-drive side will need to be replaced (the same one as used in the front wheel), while the standard ball bearings on the drive side will need to be cleaned / regreased. Freewheel seems to operate fine.

And here's a video of the rear wheel in action:
