Reading this I thought I had written it for a moment?! I used to drool over the Stumpys in Berkshire Cycles in Crowthorne back in '95/'96 and never got the bike I wanted until later years (incidentally, not a Stumpy :roll! I also live in the Guildford area now too!

Another BC customer here, all of my new bikes came from there (Raleigh Maverick, Holdsworth thing and My Butler) when I was younger, I would have got my Kona via them too if I'd known they accepted Halfords C2W vouchers.
Lived in Yateley back then, but I remember Edgbarrow school as a mate of mine had the dubious honour of having been caught hiding in the bushes while trying to steal a Carrera Quattro Comp from there. He saw the error of his ways though and I think the shock it gave him stopped him sliding down the slippery slope.

No I did not go to school in Edgbarrow, but I did do football training there as a kid on the astro turf.
Berkshire Cycles was (probably still is) a gret bike shop with nice friendly staff. The shop I remember always existing since I was a kid. Maybe since the 80s?
Anyone want to buy the above bike then let me know. Cheers
