I have a set of PACE RC39XC 100mm for sale. They are almost new.
They are the final version made by Pace before they sold the rights to DT Swiss. They are the better/revised ones with the black stanchions (not the earlier ones with the gold stanchions).

I bought these several years ago from someone who only used them for a brief test ride. I have never used them (due to ongoing health/medical problems). As such, they are in the same fantastic condition as when I bought them – possibly one of the best examples of a previously-fitted RC39XC fork you might find...!

You may find a few slight marks from fitting, but otherwise they are in fantastic condition. There were some tiny scratches on the drop-outs, and also on the top of the fork crown where the bearing crown race was fitted. I have carefully touched in these small marks with a tiny flick of perfectly matching paint. This is only visible on very careful close inspection in bright light (even then you may not even see it).

I have not touched in the drop-out surfaces where the wheel was fitted, as it is pointless to do so.

The top of the alloy steerer-tube was cut down to 193mm. There are some associated scratches at the top of the steerer tube from sanding down afterwards, and a few other scratches from removal of the crown race. All this was done by the first owner (I tend to be a lot more fussy and careful with my bike parts). Obviously, the steerer tube will be unseen when fitted, but I’m just documenting everything for clarity.

The outer cable for the remote is currently 415mm. This can easily be removed and trimmed down (or replaced with a different colour if desired). It can otherwise be left as is until the inner cable needs replacing or servicing.

There is no visible wear to the remote lever, which looks perfect.
There is no visible wear to the carbon legs, which look perfect.
There is no visible wear to the black stanchions, which look perfect.

The latest DT-branded version of this design (with a slightly different spec) have an RRP of about £675.
The full carbon DT ones are about £1,000 but they have more carbon than these Pace ones.

I'll consider sensible offers.
I'm based in West/Central London if you want to pay cash on collection.

I bought a pair of these in the same condition that were serviced by Tim before I got them.

IIRC I paid £160. So don't build your hopes too high 8D. And I've had a pair of brand new DT XMC130s with full guarantee on sale with no buyers for £450, which is as low as I am willing to go or I'll just keep them.

BTW Mooseymoose if you need the implants for V-brakes - I am fairly sure I have them - I won't ever be using them as these forks deserve Hope discs and nothing less.

Been following the prices of these the RC39's for a bit, currently got 2 pairs that Tim has just stripped and serviced for me.

I paid £85 for a black stanchion pair that were badly worn, but Tim is rescuing as a spare pair

I paid £99 for a gold stanchion pair that were in superior condition, which i've had serviced as well

Seen two pairs sell on eBay recently, both black stanchion, both used and un-serviced but in good condition, went for £145 and £185.

Hey, look at that! I got some responses :D

Right then...

I'm not expecting a hugely unrealistic price for these.
To be honest I didn't know what to ask for them.

I also realise that as a newbie to retrobike, I have put my advert in the wrong section. Sorry about that

I have since put another one in the ebay section with a link to my ebay listing. Here is the link to that rb thread:
http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=182696

You will notice that I have put them on ebay for a very silly Buy It Now price. This is so that people will just put in their best offers. This approach has sometimes been helpful with selling other things. We'll see if it works for these forks ;)

Thanks for all your interest :D

The new rrp on these was £429 iirc, comparing them to new DT forks is utterly useless and irrelevant. If they had sold the rights to RST would you still be comparing? No, thought not.

Mallott:
I'm comparing them with current DT prices, because that is what I would have to spend if I wanted to buy something new of a similar spec today.
If Pace had sold them to RST, I would indeed be using that comparison, (probably much to your annoyance).

In my case, I am looking at them purely from the perspective of functionality, compared to what is on offer today at today's prices.
I think others might also be taking that perspective, considering the keen interest and unexpectedly high offers currently being discussed privately via another web-site (and even with people on here too).

If you are looking at them from a different perspective, particularly what they would have sold for 5 years ago, that's your prerogative. I'm sure there are many others looking at it from a similar perspective, which frankly, is to be expected.

As long as someone wants them and is happy to part with some decent money, I don't really care what their perspective is. They can wear them as a hat for all I care
