Sold SOLD Marin Team Issue 1994 17.5" (Marin-size) NOW SPLITTIN'!

I'm very tempted - such a beauty.
Are you still selling as complete bike?

TBH I was dreaming of an earlier model - 91 or 92 - but I don't know how often those come up?
Any chance you know if the Team Issue a different frame from the Team Marin in all models / years? Seems in the catalogues to say that the Team Issue is "made in the USA" whereas not for the Team Marin...?

It WAS, not now.

Sorry mate, in the meantime it got sold.

Team Issues and Team Marins were often built with same frames, it depends on the year obviously. As far as I know all high-end steel frames were built in Taiwan, happy to be proven otherwise.

Some of the early titanium frames were made in the USA only.

Look for a suitable size first, then try to get frames built with the tubeset "Tange Ultimate Superlight", you can't go wrong IMHO.

Oh man ... I had just decided I wanted to buy it! Should have DM'ed you 🥲
(that said, glad you got a sale in the end though. Amazing bike. My hunt goes on...)

Thanks for the tip re: frames. How light is your bike btw when built up?

Re: the Team Marin vs Team Issue frames, I checked the '91 catalogue - Team Issue says "Made in the USA" ... Team Marin doesn't 🤔

EDIT - Taiwan made not US.

92 and 93 Team Issue and Team Marin frames are the same. Taiwan made

94 Team Issue and Team Marin are both Taiwan made but the Team Marin has a painted coating finish as opposed to the nickle finish of the Team Issue.

Frame moved to Taiwan manufacture in 92.

Many thanks Matty.

So from what you're saying the '92 & '93 Team and Team Issue are identical frames / tubing - therefore the same weight? What about '91?

Sorry for all the qns, I am just getting into Marins. Back in 1992 as a kid I dreamed of a Pine Mountain but couldn't afford it - and somehow ended up with a '92 GT Panthera AL 🤷‍♂️. I recently picked up both a '91 and '92 Eldridge Grade very cheaply... and now I know more / have done some reading, I already want to trade up for a Team or Team Issue! So I'm gutted I missed out on the bike in this thread... 🥲
