I extended the seatpost a bit more to get a better leg extension, and it feels like it's at the right height now. It turns out that my fixie's seatpost was even higher, and I never really had problems with touching the ground on it. I took the handlebars up a bit too, which has made the cables at the front a bit tight, but that hopefully shouldn't be an issue. The gears are working well, but can be a bit slow changing down, might just give the rear mech a clean to smooth things out.
