To my knowledge the only way is to check is via the ID of the stanchions. F-Series 80-100mm had thinner-wall legs and a bigger air piston than the Floats (over 100mm travel) and TALAS.
F-Series up to 2010 is backwards compatible in my experience to the early Floats. I haven't owned anything newer than 2010!
