An Ishiwata 022 frame set made in the Superia factory in Zedelgem, Belgium. Looking at the Team Marc-Superia style decals, this is a late 70s frame.
Seat tube (c-c): 54 cm
Top tube (c-c): 56 cm
Head tube: 12.5 cm
The condition is used, with several chips off and dents and some scratches. Overall, the frame and the fork are straight, no bends. The bearings of bottom bracket and fork function normally. The metallic blue paint looks bright and all Superia decals are in almost perfect condition. The rear dropout adjustment screws are rusted and the headset shows some traces of wrenching.
This is a nice tourism road bike frame set, with a historical twist. Superia actually was founded in 1958 by one of the Claeys brothers - who had founded the famous Flandria Cycles company. The teenage Eddy Merckx started his professional career in 1965 in the Solo-Superia pro cycling team. The team also featured Belgian legends such as Rik Van Steenberghen en Rik Van Looy. Eric De Vlaeminck and the later famous team director Patrick Lefévère rode in the late 70s team Marc Zeepcentrale-Superia.
This tourism frame was originally fit with a Shimano 600 derailleur set. If you need original or time correct components just let me know and we can do combined shipping.
Item shipped from Belgium in a custom double cardboard box, braced and well packed. Shipping costs GBP 25,00. Includes online tracking and insurance (bpack World).
I’m looking at GBP 60,00 or a good bid.
If you need more photo’s or data just let me know. Many thanks.
