Giant XTC Team Hardtail Mountain bike. Vintage, retro, old.... whatever you want to call it, it gets a lot of love out on the trails from bikers in the know. Despite its 2004 vintage its still a very lightweight bike even by todays standards. The attached phot is genuine and current, i cleaned it up the other weekend.
The only original component from MY original build is the stem and handlebars, everything else has been replaced. And replaced with pretty good equipment, some of it in the last couple of years. The bike hasnt been used much in the last few years.
Spec - from memory: I will update this when i get home and look at it properly.
Medium size frame... anybody over 6'2" will feel awkard on this frame (unless you raise the bars.)
Hope XC hubs on Mavic 'something or other' XC Rims
Shimano XT front and rear mechs.
Shimano XT 9 speed rear cassette.
Shimano LX gear shifters.
RaceFace 'something or other' cranks.
Cane Creek Headset.
Manitou Black forks.
Avid juicy hydraulic brakes.
Panaracer Fire tyres
Thompson seatpost
and funky yellow, hard as nails seat.
Would benefit from some TLC as a few bits will need replacing shortly. The front chain rings and chain are very worn, but work fine at the moment and gear changes are surprisingly reliable with no ghost changes.
Tyres have what i'd call 'summer grip' left on them.
