Having a shuffle of the fleet and this gets ridden least as it's much more bike than I need! It's a 2004 or 2005 Marin Attack Trail frame in black + 27.2mm seatpost shim (it takes a 30.0 post which is quite hard to find and most of us have a 27.2mm kicking about).
I spent a long time looking for something like this and even longer building it up. Since then it's had one blast at Lee Quarry and a couple of local rides... it's a beast and will go down pretty much anything, climbs ok too. But my hardtails are all I need TBH.
PRICE:
£210 posted with gold Hope headset, gold Hope QR seatclamp + shim
OR
£175 posted with Whyte QR seatclamp + shim.
Both prices are FRAME + PARTS ONLY but also include the Fox Float R air shock in good working order (adjustable rebound and ProPedal damping + shock set-up notes), rear mech hanger, BB shell cable guide and bottle cage bolts.
If the frame sells without the Hope stuff, I'll take £40 for the Hope stuff (posted)
SPEC:
17.5" (size M but more like an M/L - it just fits me a 6'3" as shown in photo) with adjustable Quad-Link Tara system (travel adjustable via QR lever between 4 and 6 inches) designed by Jon Whyte for Marin. Suitable for 130-150mm 1 1/8" fork.
Frame is disc only and requires 34.9mm BP front mech and standard 9mm QR x 135mm OLD rear wheel. Cable stops allow use of exposed gear inners or full length outers. Suits big brakes and big tyres (2.3" rear no problem) as it'll be over 30lbs when built up!
WEIGHT:
3.35kg - that's with headset and seatclamp fitted
CONDITION:
Fair few scratches and chips but no dings, straight and rides great. No chainsuck due to design. I made a chainstay protector for it out of road bar tape which I'll leave on as it works well. Had new BETD shock bush fitted one ride ago.
If interested, please bear in mind that I won't be able to post it until 22nd November due to home and work commitments.
I'll get some frame-only pics up when it's fully stripped, here's how it looks built up:
VERSION 1 - Wheeltech wheels and 1x9 XT:
VERSION 2 - Hope / Mavic D521 wheels and 2x9 XT:
