At the moment I have two 26" and two 29" in the fleet and couldn't honestly pick a favourite rider.
In my opinion I think that the newer 29ers can turn just as quickly and are only beaten on acceleration by a well sorted XC race 26er.
My 29ers are more affected by crosswinds and can be harder to restart on long steep climbs after I've ahem "stopped to enjoy the view".
I seem to be able to handle downhill dropoffs more confidently with the bigger wheels though.
