If all else fails lockwire them on. You'll find it in any good motorcycle/motocross shop.

Not heard about renthal grip glue. Is it possible to get the grips off again? Does it permenatly stick to the bar?

Used switch cleaner with good luck in the past. It's bad ass stuff and would avoid on carbon bars.

Lock ons are sweet though. Almost tempted to run some OURY lock ons on some of my newer retro builds (if that makes sense!)

Isn't renthal grip glue for sticking motorbike grips to the twisty throttle bit? Like John says, forever?

Thanks for the answers so far I must admit i do prefer lock on's, ODI intense being my grip of choice but ive had this pair of DMR grips knocking about for a while so thought i'd give them a chance, Ive always used the "Insette" way of sticking them but for some reason it didn't want to work this time, So next up i'll give the WD40 a chance.

It sticks your grips to the bars leaving then solidly positioned (also provides a bit of lube for getting them on). On metal bars the set glue will just peel off once you've cut (yes cut) the grips off. I'm not sure if it would be safe on carbon bars though.

I normally use the hairspray trick but the missus ran out of it this weekend. In the absence of anything else, I used a bit of Isopropyl Alcohol that I had lying around (not quite enough for a cocktail...). A small spray to help lube it, and it evaporated away (from behind the grip somehow!) sticking the grip in place. Magic.
