After two flats in 30 miles yesterday thinking of these. Anybody got an opinion? For my general use cx bike. 700x35 tyres. Can get a pair of presta pre filled tubes for £12.

Do they work?

Not worried about weight. Already carry tube, levers, tool, patches, pump, etc.

Re:

They work reasonably well yeah depends what's punctured your tyre. I've used them on my commuter and sometimes they've sealed and I've got home but other times the seal has given out a mile or so further down the road. Those situations were from glass or something cutting the tyre and leaving a reasonable sized hole. If they don't seal and you have to change the tube it's a messy job with all the sealant inside the tyre. For small holes made by thorns or something they work much better. They are heavy though.

I swear by them, rather than at them.

+1 for slime tubes, although i tend to run the halfords version

Thanks guys.

Only looking at tubes as have plenty of tyres for it.

Reading mixed reviews. The two flats that led me to this look like thorns. I carry a spare tube and repair kit but still a drag at this time of year, getting cold by the side of the road........

i had the same view until a got fed up of flats
its nasty around here the wind has left a lot of thorns on the cycle paths an the council never seem to clear them

those tyres are worthy of the investment even if just for the winter

ignore the 1 bad review by that troll read the rest there perfect
nothing upsets me more then a flat tyre when im riding
an with these tyres thats no longer an issue
